Obituary

Darlus Collon Cook, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Born in Arkansas, he had been a resident of Hampton for many years. Darlus had played sax in the Continental Army Band at Fort Monroe and in Germany for seven years. He had also served as the Finance Director for the City of Hampton. In his spare time, Darlus loved to play his sax and was a member of the Hampton Bowling League. Darlus was preceded in death by his wife Claudelle. He is survived by his children, Andy (Renee) Cook, Rena (Larry) Cook, and Warren (Julie) Cook; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was beloved by his children and grandchildren and will be missed. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2014 at Clark Cemetery by Pastor Kenny D'Auria. Arrangements by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
