IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Richard
Woodward
July 5, 1965 – May 22, 2025
Daniel Richard Woodward, 59, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born in Burbank, CA on July 5, 1965, Dan graduated from Seneca Valley High School (Cranberry, PA) and joined the U.S. Navy, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. After his distinguished military career, he went on to work as a project manager for Quality Coatings of Virginia.
Preceded in death by his parents, Richard Woodward and Maureen Mahoney, Dan is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ann Marie Woodward; his children Megan Ann, Hannah Marie, and Sean Daniel (Sydney Thayer); his sister Debra Merritt Lyons (Ed), brother David Woodward; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Dan was a devoted husband and father who would do anything for his family. He loved Penn State football, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, and especially enjoyed spending summer weekends camping, boating, and fishing at Lake Gaston. During the fall, you could likely find him hunting–another one of his longtime passions. As a Navy veteran, Dan (known as "Woody" by his shipmates) understood the true meaning of sacrifice. He could fix anything and everything, and he was always willing to stop whatever he was doing to lend a helping hand. If you needed help getting to where you needed to go, Dan could navigate you to just about anywhere without using a map or GPS.
Dan touched so many lives, and he will be remembered for his humility, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
