Cynthia L. Phillips, 66, died Monday, August 3, 2015. Born in Georgia, she had been a Hampton resident for more than 40 years where she was a teacher at Machen, Phillips, and Phenix Elementary Schools for more than 20 years. A very generous person, she made friends easily and kept in touch with them regularly. She loved to travel. Survivors include her sisters, Janeen P. Lee and her husband, Harold of Franklin, TN and Dr. Carolyn Phillips of Philadelphia, PA; three nieces, Patty Cannon and her husband, Newt, Susan North and her husband, Josh, and Karen Gilreath and her husband, Scott; a nephew, Erin Nash and his wife, Brina; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
