Craig Allen Harden passed away on August 13, 2026, held lovingly in his father’s arms. Born on March 18, 1987, in Newport News, Virginia, Craig came into this world as a blessing to his parents, Gary Allen and Virginia Stoops Harden, and he spent his life giving that same blessing back to everyone who knew him.
A proud graduate of Bethel High School, Craig embraced life with passion and purpose. He entered the Marines delayed entry program, played with heart as a Bruin on both the football and baseball teams, and carried a deep love for the outdoors and music. Hunting, fishing, music and gunsmithing weren’t just hobbies to him — they were ways he connected with others. Music was one of the great loves in Craig's life, beginning with his great grandmother, Glenna "Mamoo" Mann booking early performances at McDonald's, talent shows, birthday parties with his brother Adam Gary Harden and childhood friend Larry Harvey III. Craig found joy in teaching, guiding, and sharing those experiences, leaving countless people with cherished memories and a lifelong love for the sports and for music he held dear.
Every day at 3:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Craig listened to Bible verses with his dad on BBN — a quiet ritual that reflected his devotion to our heavenly Father. His faith was not only personal but something he shared openly, offering comfort, hope, and strength to those around him.
Craig is survived by his loving parents, Gary and Virginia Stoops Harden; his brother, Adam Gary Harden; his grandfather, L.G. "Jerry" Harden; his grandmother, Mary Meares Stoops; and a wide circle of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, and loyal family pets, Scooby and Spartacus. He is reunited in heaven with his grandfather, Robert L. Stoops, Sr.; grandmother, Vera Mae Mann Harden; uncle, Doug Harden; and aunt, Tina Thornton Powell.
Craig’s story continues in the people he loved, the friendships he nurtured, and the kindness he gave so freely. His presence touched lives in ways that will never fade. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
Rest In Peace, my son — Your Light Lives On.
