Craig W. Finkel, 67, passed away on March 8, 2022 in the home he built surrounded by family. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a Hampton resident for most of his life.

Craig was a jack of all trades and his life's work involved working with his hands and ultimately running his own business, Finkel's Home Improvement. He loved nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors, watching and feeding any of the wildlife that came within view.  On his last day he saw seven deer come within five feet of his open bedroom window.  Craig loved anything on the water, including fishing, crabbing, clamming or just watching the sunrise.

Bowling at Circle Lanes (Sparetimes) was something Craig did for many years, earning multiple ABC and WIBC league awards, and scoring a personal best game of 290.  He was also an avid pool player, playing the last several years at Mill Creek Tavern.  He was well known for his ability to teach others the finer points of shooting pool and also being a bit of a pool shark.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents Charlotte and Howard Finkel. He is survived by his former wife Margo Finkel; his children Jason Finkel (Ashley) and Erica Liston (Ben); his brothers Robert, Bryan and Keith Finkel; and four grandchildren, Keawe, Grayson, Ameliya and Maribelle.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Mark Fleming and Janet Yue, RN from Wings Over Virginia Hospice. Visitation will be from 6-7:30pm Saturday, March 19, 2022 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date at his home with a bonfire in nature.
