Cordelia Guy Parks, 79, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. Cordelia was born on the Eastern Shore on January 14, 1935. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Julie Guy; and her brother, Ernest Ward Guy from whom she received the nickname "Sis," which was adopted by nearly everyone who knew her since her youth. Cordelia spent most of her career at Sears in Newport News and Hampton. She was an active member of the Hampton Christian Church for over 60 years and held many positions of leadership. Cordelia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tom Parks. She also leaves behind two daughters and their families, Cynthia and Rob Campbell of New Bern, NC and Victoria Parks and Gordon Shock of Cincinnati, OH. She adored her three grandsons, James Campbell, Jonathan Campbell and Jackson Shock. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 PM, Thursday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. John H. Knibb with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
