Connie Marie Akers, 83, died Friday, July 7, 2017. Born in Pembroke, Virginia, she was a longtime Hampton resident where she worked at Maida Development and as a Deli Manager at Pantry Pride.

Preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Evelyn Rumburg, and her husband Arthur L. Akers; survivors include her children, Stanley Lambert Akers (Lynn), Gregory Lynn Akers (Tina Phelan), Terri Lynn Akers Johnson (Thomas), her brother, Billy Rumburg, and her grandchildren, Jason Daniel Akers and Tracy Marie Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4:00-5:30 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia; interment will be private.
