Concetta "Chats" Marie Rendon peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 6, 2018 surrounded by her family.  Born in St. Louis, MO on April 14, 1954, she had been a Hampton resident since 1962.  Concetta went to Kecoughtan High School and graduated from St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC in 1976.  She worked at her family's restaurant, Alberto's, before beginning her career as a Federal Civil Servant.  Concetta received many awards during her 36 years of government service, including the Commander's Award for Civilian Service and Outstanding Employee of the Year with a Disability Award.  In March 2018, Concetta retired from the Army's Training and Doctrine Command, Ft. Eustis, VA.
Concetta was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she regularly attended mass with her mother.  She enjoyed time with her friends and family, whether it was at the beach, on one of her many road trips, shopping, or sitting around the kitchen table sharing stories.  Concetta had an incredible zest for life and was always eager to challenge herself, despite her limitations.  Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, John Harper and his daughter Venius Meiggs; Concetta's siblings, Michael Rendon (Rita), Rick Rendon (Beth), and Lupita Fowler (Ray), and many nieces and nephews who she adored spending time with.
There will be a Mass, followed by a reception at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hampton on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11:00 am, the family will be welcoming guests beginning at 10:30 am.
