Cletus Joseph Vincke, 97, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Born in Ottoville, OH, he has been a resident of Newport News since 1932. He retired from NASA as an Electrical Engineer in 1977. Cletus graduated from St. Gerard's High School in Lima, OH and Ohio Northern University in Ada, OH. He was a very active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, serving as an usher, lector and Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5480 and the Institute of Electrical And Electronics Engineers. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of their children, Alice Marie Vincke; second wife, Mary "Sis" Vincke; brothers, Elvin and Lester Vincke; and sister, Rose Vincke Hoehn; and step-son, Wayne Deans. Surviving are his daughters, Joan Marie Vincke of Hampton and Susan Elizabeth Vincke of Newport News; step-children, Bob Deans (Sandra) of Newport News, Leslie Reynolds (Bobby) of Yorktown; and five nieces. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 PM Monday, April 27, 2015 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. Immediately following at 6:00 PM, A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. John David Ramsey. Interment will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Peninsula Memorial Park. The family wishes any memorial contributions to be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church or your favorite charity .
