Clara L. Davis, "Captain Clara" 92, died Saturday, June 23, 2018. Born June 3, 1926 in Fox Hill she retired as a dispatcher at Langley Research Center when she and her husband Glen Davis moved to Grandy, NC. Whether she was fishing nets in the Currituck Sound or the ocean, or shrimping in shallow Back Bay, she enjoyed her life in North Carolina. Clara moved back to Fox Hill when she was 65 where she could always be found cutting grass or working in the flower beds.

Clara loved her family, friends and the Lord.

Clara is survived by her children, Joe Davis and wife Gay, Jesse Davis and wife Lannie, and Leroy Davis; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 pm, Saturday, June 30, 2018 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton.
