Charles S. Rayle, Jr., 77, passed away peacefully in his home on July 7, 2015, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was originally from Greensboro, NC and had been a resident of Hampton, VA for 73 years. After serving in the Army for six years, he went on to work for the City of Newport News as an accountant for 33 years. Charles was a 44 year member of Ivy Farms Church of the Brethren. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mabel Rayle, Sr., and his loving wife of 43 years, Dona Bane Rayle. Survivors include his sisters; Linda and Gathel, son, Nathan and wife Amy, daughter Lisa and husband James, and his grandchildren Alex and Kaitlin. The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave. Hampton, on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 6-8PM. A graveside service will be conducted at 11AM on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News.
