Charles K. Gabler, 71, of Hampton, died peacefully on September 2, 2019. Born on November 18, 1947, in Charlottesville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Denton B. Gabler, Jr. and Margaret Gabler Bibb.

Proceeded in death by his wife, Rebecca M. Gabler and brother, Denton E. "Buck" Gabler; he is survived by his daughters, Sara Cann, her husband Brian, their children, Ian and Sydney, of Roanoke, Virginia, and Maggie Gabler, her children, Erin and Lane Hicks, of Newport News, Virginia.

Charles served in the U.S. Army for 15 years and after went on to work in the concrete and asphalt industry. He loved hunting and fishing, and was also an avid NASCAR fan.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at both Heartland Hospice Care and Virginia Oncology Associates for all their care and support.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville.
