Obituary

Chaplain (COL) Richard H. Holley, U. S. Army Retired, died at home on August 9, 2022.  He had been a resident of Hampton since 1994, and a native of Fort Sill, OK.

Following three years of enlisted service, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma and Virginia Theological Seminary.  Chaplain Holley entered active duty in 1968 after 4 years as Curate of St. John's Episcopal Church, Norman, Oklahoma.  After his retirement in 1994, he served as Priest in Charge of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Portsmouth, and as Assisting Priest of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Newport News.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, and their children, Christopher B. Holley (wife Alisa and children Grayson and Camryn) of Bristow, VA, and Ann H. Gregorek (husband Jason, and children Isabel, Mia, and Tess) of Plano, TX.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2022, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church by the Rev. Anne Kirchmier and the Rev. Katherine Gray.

The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the church.
