Carmen Maria Christina Vaughan, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2025.  She was born in Schwabmuenchen, Germany to parents Heinz Josef Goetz and Christine Gabriele Anna Mauder Goetz.

Carmen attended college for linguistics in Germany.  She worked at Inges Nook in 1996 after her family was transferred from Germany to Ft. Eustis.  She also worked at Dillards as a Lancome Representative and at the Ft. Eustis Exchange.

Preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dane C. Vaughan; her son, Christopher L. Vaughan and his wife, Ashlie; her granddaughter, Adeline Marie Vaughan; and Aunt Gertrude Weiss, Oliver Weiss a cousin and Uncle Edgar Mauder of Germany.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton, Virginia.
