Carl "Wayne" Higgins, 61, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013. Born in Lexington, VA, he was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Flossie and Morris Rice. He has been a resident of Hampton for 54 years, where he was a self-employed drywall installer and finisher.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Jean Higgins; sons, Carl Wayne Higgins, Jr. and wife Shannon, and Randy Eugene Higgins; sister, Betty Jean Erickson; brothers, Roy Higgins and Jerry Higgins; eight grandchildren and one great grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 Tuesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton.
