He spent his entire life in Hampton, where he graduated from Hampton High School in 1960. He went on to have a long career at Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock as a QID Inspector, and retired in 1999 after close to 40 years of dedicated service. Cal proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He was a lifelong member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

Cal was preceded in death by his loving and supportive parents; his first wife, Linda C. Williams and their 2 sons, Richard T. Williams and Brad C. Williams; and his sister, Mary W. Smith; he leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 44 years, Katherine S. Williams; daughters Ann W. Steveson (Brian) and Selby T Grand (Chris); grandchildren, Zachary L. Steveson and Ryleigh E. Steveson; sister-in-law, Rachel Sevier; brother-in-law, Wayne Smith; nephew, Heath Smith (Sheila); and many other loving family members and friends.

From the time Cal was a child, nothing made him happier than being out on the boat fishing, a passion he learned from his dad. Cal also took great pride in planting and nurturing his yearly garden. In his later years, Cal always looked forward to his daily card playing with his friends down in Fox Hill.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff at Mary Immaculate Hospital for their love and support during this difficult time.
