Bunrath Guy Adams, 60, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 surrounded by family and friends at her home after a courageous battle with Lung cancer. She was born to Reng and San Rit-on (both deceased) in Kampangpet, Thailand on February 1, 1953.

She leaves to cherish fond memories; her husband, Leon Adams; children, Angelia I. Askew-Bivens (Paul Bivens), Michael J. Askew Sr., and Sabrina L. Askew-Jenkins; grandchildren, Ashante' B. Green, Michael Askew Jr., Mika S.A. Askew; Three brothers in Thailand, and a host of other family and friends.

Guy settled down in the Peninsula area in 1975, where she worked for several different establishments before starting her own business; Adams Alterations and Cleaners in 2006, and started an additional business; Adams Thai market in 2009. She loved serving her customers with a big smile and went above and beyond to see that they got the best service available. She could always be seen sitting in her favorite rocking chair in front of her businesses until she got too ill to come to work.

Guy, through great effort, proudly took the oath of allegiance and received her U. S. citizenship on April 24, 2008.

The family would like to thank the entire Thai Community for their help and generosity during our time of Grief. You guys really displayed your love for Guy and it was greatly appreciated.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton, 757- 825-80708070.

A Buddhist Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions.

The family invite their friends to join them after the service at the Thai Erawan Restaurant, 2900 Hampton Highway Ste. Q in York County for the repast.
