Bruce Mason, 68, died Friday, December 8, 2023. He was born in Hampton and lived there for most of his life. Bruce was a Senior Master Technician with Ford, retiring in 2023 after more than 40 years of service. He loved working on cars and received great joy from helping people with their car repairs. He was also passionate about his hobbies. He was an avid golfer, loved playing the guitar, and enjoyed camping and canoeing. He was a "foodie" who loved to grill and was proud of his home-roasted coffee beans. He was a generous and loving person, always sharing what he could with others.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence R. and Noel T. Mason and his sister, Katharine Nicely; survivors include his wife, Kim Mason; his children, Chris Mason and wife, Julie, Valerie Mason and husband, Terry Fincher, Stephanie Smith and husband, Jeff, Joe Mason, and Emily Neal; his brothers, John Mason and wife, Barbara and Luke Mason; six grandchildren, Zoë, Isaac, Caleb, Chloe, Ella, and Xander; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-5pm Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 5pm.
