Brenda Brooks, 60, of Newport News, passed away Tuesday October 21, 2014. She is pictured here with her mother, Joan, who preceded her in death. A mother of one, Seth, she was born April 21, 1954 in Torrance, California to Louis and Joan (Pscholka) Kitts. Brenda moved to Virginia in 1989 with her son and then husband Ron Brooks. She owned and operated a house cleaning business that grew exponentially over the years into a long list of clients, each one of which she knew and loved personally. She also worked the front gate of Langley Speedway up until her passing. She became a fixture at the track and a beloved member of the staff. What she loved the most about it was getting to pass a smile and some positivity to every guest that came through the gate. That smile and loving positivity along with her devotion to her religion and church are what she is most remembered for. She is survived by her son Seth, her brothers Ed and Steve Kitts, her father Louis Kitts, as well as other family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at her church, Healing Waters Worship Center, on Wednesday October 29 at 6:30PM. The address of the church is 12172 Smith's Neck Rd. Carrollton, VA, 23430.
