Brenda Burdick Bowers, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026. She was born in Binghamton, New York, on August 18, 1951, to parents, Clarence and Virginia Burdick. She spent her younger years on a dairy farm in Harpursville, that would later become the famous Animal Adventure Park. Brenda would meet her husband, Walter R. “Bill” Bowers, a good ol’ Texas boy, and begin a life journey as a proud and dedicated military wife. She embraced the many adventures that came with military life, making a home wherever life and duty carried her. Along the way, Brenda formed lasting friendships with people from all over the world. Those friendships, the memories they shared, and the connections she made throughout her life were among the many things Brenda treasured most.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Dianne Burdick; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Burdick; and infant son, Brett Ryan, who passed shortly after birth. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Colleen Bowers Whitney and Kathryn Bowers Brown; grandchildren, Mikaila Parra (Keith), Austin Whitney, and Gavan Brown; great-grandsons, Izaak, Hayes, and Kohen; brother, David Burdick; two wonderful sisters and a brother in law; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Brenda loved the many cats and dogs that graced her couch and lap over the years, and we take comfort knowing she is surrounded by all her beloved companions in heaven.

A graveside service will be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Military Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
