Booker T. Patrick, Jr. was born on February 6, 1949 in Washington, NC, the oldest son of the late Deacon Booker T. Patrick, Sr. and Mother Mary J. Patrick. He departed from earth to glory on January 20, 2019. He joined Loving Union Freewill Baptist Church in Washington, NC on May 10, 1964. A graduate of New Bold High School in Dover, NC, he attended Fayetteville State University until joining the US Air Force. He went to work for the Salvation Army in Hampton and received a certificate as Man of the Month in September 2006. He loved his family, friends, and relatives. His hobbies included watching football, basketball, and assisting people move furniture. He was an easy-going person to his friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James E. Patrick, his sister, Brenda P. Boone and aunts and uncles, Carrie Peyton (Herbert), Winnie Hardy (Jim), and Essie Moye (John Henry). He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Justin Dean Patrick; his daughter, Kimberly Patrick; his brother, Hilton E. Patrick (Marva) of Goldsboro, NC; his sisters, Evelyn P. Wright (Vicky) of Vanceboro, NC, Gloria J. Bailey (Tyrone) of Hyattsville, MD, and Deborah Ham (Stewart) of Chocowinity, NC; a sister-in-law, Helen F. Patrick of Vanceboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. We loved him but God loved him best.

The family will receive friends from 11-noon on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at noon. Interment with Air Force honors will be at 3:15 in the Albert G. Horton, Jr. State Veterans' Cemetery, Suffolk.
