Bobby Silverthorn, 85, passed away April 12, 2023. A lifelong resident of Hampton, he was born on Ft. Monroe March 28, 1938. Bobby was a member of the Hampton High School class of 1956. After graduation he went to work for NACA as a draftsman and spent his entire career at NASA Langley where he retired as a technical illustrator. Following his retirement, he enjoyed painting and building his own wooden boats. Bobby was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church where he served as an usher.

Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Edward Scott Silverthorn and brother, Jerry Ray Silverthorn. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Arline Silverthorn; their sons, Ronald Silverthorn and David Silverthorn, their dog, Jethro and a large extended family.

A memorial service officiated by Rev. Rhonda Wheeler will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hampton on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11AM. Arrangements are by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
