Bobby Lee Hibbitts, Sr., 69, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014. A native of Marion, OH, he grew up in Phoebus and had been a Hampton resident most of his life. He retired from NASA-Langley and was a member of the American Legion Post 48, IBEW #1340, and the Carpenters' Local Union. Survivors include his wife, Carol Hibbitts; a son, Bobby Lee Hibbitts, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa Hibbitts; two grandchildren, Haleigh Wiley and Lola Hibbitts; four half-sisters and one half-brother. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment with Army honors will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
