Sgt Maj. US Army (Ret.) Billy Lee Rumburg, passed away January 26, 2021. Born in Pembroke VA, his career in the US Army led him all over the world before retiring and settling in Hampton, VA. Following his 27 years in service to the Army he went on to work for another 20 years as a labor supervisor for Metro Machine. Billy loved to hunt, fish, and bowl.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Alice Rumburg. Billy is survived by his children, Billy Rumburg II (Dawn), Albert Rumburg (Tonya), James Rumburg (Jennifer), and Monica Francis; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; as well as a large extended family.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 6-7:30PM. A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at noon with military honors.
