Betty Delois DeGuzman, 89, died Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was a longtime Peninsula resident. Betty loved feeding the squirrels and the blue jays and had quite a following; they even came up to the door and scratched for their peanuts if her delivery wasn't prompt enough.

Preceded in death by her husband, Federico DeGuzman and her son, Nicky Salamida; survivors include her son, Jamie DeGuzman and his wife, Deborah; a granddaughter, Angel DeGuzman; a great-granddaughter, Gracie; two sisters, Shirley Mae Poole and Joyce Hudgins; a niece, Delores Hudgins; a cousin, Eddie Sweeney; and many other family members.
