Bettie Louise Lowe, 83, died Sunday, September 25, 2016. Born in Johnson City, TN, she moved to her beloved Phoebus as a young child.  She enjoyed playing cards, cursing, drinking and smoking, but her greatest love was her family.

Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Edgar Cogno Lowe and her brother, Billy Joe Smith; survivors include her daughter, Cheryl L. Pena and her husband, Tony; four sons, Bruce W. Lowe and his wife, Teri, Kevin C. Lowe and his wife, Melinda, John R. Lowe and his wife, Becky, and Edgar Clay Lowe and his wife, Suzy; five grandchildren, Tonya Nichole Pena, Courtney Madison Eutsler, Tiffany Danielle Pena, Weston Cogno Lowe, and Brittany C. Snapp; and two great-grandchildren, Nathan Kyle Lowe and Reagan Snapp.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Don Blagg.
