Bertram "Bert" Clarence Agee, was born in Tampa, FL on January 13, 1935 and has been a Peninsula resident since 1941, He went home to his heavenly Father on May 1, 2015 after a long battle with lung and heart problems. Following his graduation from Warwick High School in 1954, Bert served his military obligation in the US Army's 11th Airborne Division. He was a dedicated Ranger serving in the Korean War and continued jumping out of airplanes for many years. He also loved sailing and spending time with his grandchildren. Bert attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, graduating with a BS in engineering. After graduating, he attended the Refrigeration Service Engineering Society (RSES) which included heating, ventilation, and air conditioning courses, completing it in 1964. Since March or 1979, Bert had built a large and efficient operation know as Bert's Inc., serving the entire Peninsula. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hampton, and a member of our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Newport News for many years. He enjoyed sponsoring new Catholic and returning Catholics, to his faith. He is survived by his wife of almost 11 years, Patricia Seitz Agee; sons, Joey Agee (Susan) and Bret Agee (Christine); daughters, Beverly Shenk (Mark), Beth Greene and Belinda Agee Greene; Step Sons, Kevin Yeargin (Nhu) and Matthew Yeargin (Jennifer); and grandchildren, Elizabeth Agee, Catie Agee, Sean Quachyeargin, Bryen Quachyeargin, Myles Quachyeargin, Kathryn Yeargin and Kristina Yeargin. The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice, especially nurse Jessica Ryan for her time and advice during this difficult time. Jessica's husband Robert was also very helpful and was there for Pat at the End. They would also like to thank Fire Station No. 1 in Grafton for coming out on numerous occasions for assistance.. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm Wednesday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rev. Sean Prince and Rev. Msgr. Robert Perkins.
