Barbara Alligood Watkins, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023; just a few weeks short of her 88 ^th birthday.  Barbara was born on May 4, 1935, in Washington, NC, the daughter of the late Herbert and Ocia Grey Alligood. Barbara graduated from Hampton High School, Class of 1953 and so enjoyed all of the high school reunions over the years. Barbara and Randy moved from Hampton to Williamsburg over 30 years ago and she truly enjoyed living in the Williamsburg area, but always said her heart was in Hampton!

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Herbert "Junie" Alligood, Malcolm "Mac" Alligood, and Leon Alligood; sisters, Norma Arnold and Eleanor Cowherd; and infant grandson, Gregory.

Barbara will be dearly missed by her husband of nearly 69 years, Randy Watkins; her four sons, Steve and wife Robin, Keith and wife, Elizabeth, Jeff and wife, Lorraine, and Phil and wife, Jenny; her eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Barbara loved her family and was so very proud of her four "boys" and all of their accomplishments.

The family wishes to thank Commonwealth Assisted Living of Williamsburg and At Home Hospice for their compassionate care of Barbara.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton.
