Barbara Ann Smith (Grams), age 81, loving mother of two, and adoring wife to her late husband James Smith Sr. (US Airforce Retired), passed away peacefully in the late hours of the 31 ^st of December 2021; surrounded by her daughter Karen, son-in-law Mark, and her sister Bonnie. Ann was born in March 1940 in Snow Hill, North Carolina.

After years of traveling with her husband and two kids across not only the United States, but also Europe, she settled down in Hampton, VA. Ann was an avid book reader, crossword puzzle guru and bingo enthusiast. Ann was known for her sense of humor, quick banter and being loved by all whom were fortunate to have known her.

Ann is survived by her two children; one daughter, Karen E. Smith-Hinton (Mark) of Hampton; one son James L. Smith Jr. (Kelly) of Batavia, Ill.; one sister, Bonnie R. Logan; five grandchildren, Meagan, Brady, Carlye, Tiffany and Christa; and one great-grandchild, Scarlet.

A private graveside service was conducted at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton by the Rev. Ron Wade. Arrangements  by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
