Barbara Frances Sesek, 67, died Friday, January 21, 2022. Born in Kirkland, WA, she was a longtime Hampton resident. She received her bachelor's degree from Virginia Wesleyan College and her master's degree from the University of Richmond. For more than 25 years she worked as a paralegal in the JAG office at Fort Monroe until its closing and then went to work as a human resources administrator at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Barbara was the consummate student, she enjoyed reading and absorbed everything she read. She loved her Bassett Hounds and served as a foster for B.R.O.O.D. (Bassett Rescue of the Old Dominion). She was well loved and never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and traveling.

Preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Petersen and Virginia Walker and her good friend, Linda Parsley; survivors include her daughter, Lindsay Cutshaw and husband, Nathan; her son, Alex Sesek, III and wife, Brittany; her granddaughter, Dorothy Cutshaw; a brother, David Petersen and his two daughters, Lena and Willow Petersen; and two close friends, Linda Chatham and Wanda Hollins. She will also be missed by her beloved Bassett Hounds.
