With heavy hearts we regret to announce the passing of our beloved mother and sister, Barbara Ann Boswell O'Dell on the 22nd Day of December 2013. Born in Hampton, VA on August 1, 1936, the daughter of Douglas and Mary Boswell, she leaves behind her children Jerry, Kelli, Michael and Kevin; her sisters Sonny, Bonnie and Patti; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was a Crabber at heart, Class of '54 Hampton High, where she was a member of the K Klube. Barbara was a housewife and a loving Mother and Sister. Her professional career, after graduating, included being Secretary to the first seven astronauts. Later she and her family relocated to Northern Virginia where she worked for the Fairfax County Government for many years. She also worked at the American Meat Institute as executive assistant to the president and later became manager of exhibits and conventions. She retired from the National Parking Association as Executive Director.

Barbara was actively involved in taking her children to school functions and sporting events.
