Barbara Ann Gunter Lilley received her healing and reunion with her parents and her Savoir on March 16, 2014. She was born in Hampton, VA on July 3, 1943 to Linwood Edmund and Francis Edith Allen Gunter who preceded her in death. As a child of the U.S. Army she lived in Japan, Germany, and within the US, but always came back to her home state of Virginia. She retired from TRADOC division at Ft. Monroe. She was a member of Hampton Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in both the Sanctuary Choir and Victory Singers. She was a member of the Jim Paul Allison Sunday School Class. Barbara was grateful for her friends, family, and special thanks to VA Oncology Associates for their love, support, and care. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, G. Bryan Lilley, children, Susan Icenhour, Dawn Montgomery, Rev. Ed Lilley and their spouses. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Howell, Barbara Carol Rauch, and Deborah Bradley, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nine nephews, three nieces, and many other extended family members.

The family will receive guests at 5pm Thursday, March 20 at Hampton Baptist Church followed by a celebration of her earthly life to begin at 6pm. Interment will follow on Friday at 10am in Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please give generously to the music ministry (organ maintenance) of Hampton Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
