Barbara A Gallaway passed away unexpectedly June 4, 2025. Born July 30, 1938, in Big Stone Gap Virginia, Barbara was a resident of Hampton for the past 65 years, where she raised her children, retired from Kmart, loved her church, Parkview Church of God, and made time for her friends.  Barbara was the rock that held her family together, she was the listening ear, voice of reason and the lion that would go to any lengths to protect her family. She was the epitome of a mother.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, O.T. Rollins; mother, Ella Blanch Rollins; husband William T. Gallaway; brothers Glenn and Tommy Rollins; and sister Sally Rollins. She is survived by her children, William T Gallaway Jr. (Elizabeth), Ricky A Gallaway, Sr. and Lori Johnson (Keith); grandchildren, Leslie (Rick), Corey (Chelsea), Nathan (Stephanie), Ricky Jr., Kristin (Travis), Kelly (Kevin), Gary (Stephanie); her great-granddaughter and caretaker, Zoie Gallaway; and all her other great grandchildren.

Everything she did revolved around her family, God, and living her life to the fullest. Her sweet voice will be missed, and the gentle touch of her hands will never be replaced.

There will be a graveside service at Parklawn Memorial Park on June 9, 2025 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends after the service at 1808 Moger Drive, Hampton.
