Barbara Elizabeth Cowden, 75, died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, June 10, 2021.  She made Smithfield her home, retiring from Smithfield Foods as an Administrative Assistant.

Predeceased by her parents, Delno and Froney Cowden, and her sister Dianne Cockrell; Barbara is survived by her five sons, Larry R. Miller (Teresa), Tommy W. Miller (Karen Cairns), Greg S. Miller (Sherrie), Dennis E. Miller, and Walter A. Miller (Keri); her grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Tommy, Jr, Brandi, Brooke, Gail, Jamieson, and Owen; step-grandchildren, Gary Powell, Michael Powel, Stanley Coon and Joseph Drudge; ten great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and her sister, Donna Miller.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5 PM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Long Hill Road, Williamsburg, VA.
