Avery Addison Sullivan, 32, of Richmond, VA, passed away on June 13, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Diane Rec, Ralph Sullivan, and Gene and Jeanine Kocmich.

Avery is survived by his three beloved children, Veyanova (8), Emerus (6), and Yana (20 months); Sarah Sullivan, loving mother of his children; parents Paul and Laura Rec; devoted parent-grandparents Carolyn and Rhody Hall; and his mother, Tiffany Sullivan. He also leaves behind many other beloved extended family members, mentors and friends.

Avery cherished his faith in God and lived it daily. He believed deeply that everyone deserves love and hope, no matter their circumstances, and he worked to share that light with those around him. He found great joy in geocaching, studying the Bible, and most of all, spending time with his children, who were the center of his world. Known for his radiant smile that could light up any room and his playful, goofy sense of humor, Avery brought laughter and warmth to everyone he met.

He will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 South Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23669 on Monday June 29 at 10AM. Interment will follow in Menokin Baptist Church Cemetery, 4459 Menokin Rd, Warsaw, VA 22572
