Ava Marie Edwards, age 5, died peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2021 with her family by her side.  Born on February 20, 2016, she was twin sister to brother, Aidan.  Ava had beautiful dimples that could light up a room and she always had a special smile on her face when her grandma would call her "Ava-nator".   She had a blanket with a cupcake on it that she loved, earning her the nickname of "Cupcake".  Ava loved having the tops of her feet rubbed and doing so would earn you a place in her heart.  Anything that was purple or orange colored, drew Ava's attention.  She loved to relax and enjoy time in water. Twinkle lights were also a favorite and Ava could watch them for hours, as well as anything Toy Story, Moana, and Minnie Mouse.  The family always said that Ava looked at the world "upside down" because she loved to be rocked and would arch her back and hang her head, so she was seeing everything upside down.

Surviving family members are Brian Michael Edwards, Brittany Yvonne Edwards, Hailey Luann Anzalone; twin brother, Aidan Edwards, brothers, Chase Edwards and Levi Anzalone; sister, Isabella Edwards; aunts, Amber Leigh Edwards and Patricia Madison Sprague; uncles Keith Anthony Edwards and Jeffrey Lee Sprague Jr.; grandparents, Brian K. and Michelle Edwards and Natasha Luann Sprague and Jeffrey Lee Sprague.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of our family and friends and all of the healthcare workers from CHKD and the Children's hospital in Richmond.
The family would also like to add a special loving thank you to Amanda Megan Cobb.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 AM on Friday, June 25, 2021 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA.
