Aurelia Louise Black, 82, died peacefully at home January 18, 2016. The daughter of Walter and Erie Murray, she was raised in Huntington, West Virginia. Aurelia was an active member of Calvary Assembly of God in Hampton, Virginia. She loved teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. Aurelia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patsy L. Kinser; brothers, Earl Murray and Willsie Murray; and sister, Jeanetta Foster.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, William R. Black; sons, William M. Black and Ronald K. Black; sister, Virginia Burks; brother, Paul Murray; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, January 21 2016 from 5-7PM. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor David Highlander at the funeral home on Friday, January 22 2016 at 2PM. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Aurelia's memory to The Alzheimer's Association.
