August William "Bill" Kiessling, 71, died Sunday, March 3, 2024. Raised in Phoebus, Bill was a
1970 graduate of Pembroke High School. He was a professional artist and much of his artwork
was published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Bill served one term as mayor of Chesapeake
City, MD. He loved going to Las Vegas with his partner, Carol.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, August Carl Kiessling and Grace Marie Hale
Kiessling and his wife, Sylvia Kiessling. He is survived by his partner, Carol Goodbody; his
brothers, Mike Kiessling, Steve Kiessling, and Mark Kiessling; his half-brother Craig Kiessling, his half-sister Carol Anne Rasmussen,
and many nieces and nephews.
