Ashlyn Kingsley Hedden, one month old, died unexpectedly, Sunday, April 10, 2022.  Born on March 7, 2022, to parents Alex and Alexis Hedden, Ashlyn was their beautiful "baby girl".  She always had a smile and was the perfect combination of her mom and dad.  Ashlyn was their princess and made her parents and family very proud.  She was dearly loved by all and will be forever missed.  Ashlyn's life will go on in the hearts of her family and with her donation of life to save another baby.

Ashlyn was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ashley G. Routten; her great-grandfathers, Jess Hodge, John Hedden, and Clyde Riddle; great-grandmothers, Lakie Hodge and Lynda Routten; she is survived by her parents, Alex and Alexis; grandparents, Brandi Riddle, Leah Dominguez, Mike Hedden, and Derek Raulerson; great-grandparents, Irving "Junie" Routten (Tammy), Edna Mae Hedden, and Denise Barnes; uncle, Samuel Hedden (Amber) and aunt, Zoey Routten; cousins, Ajae, Sammie, Lailynn, and Layne; her large extended family of second cousins, and great aunts and uncles; and her dog siblings, Petey and Griffin.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 5 – 7 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton.  A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Friday, April 15 by Rev. Eric J. Vaudt at Clark Cemetery, Hampton.  Please join the family at a reception immediately following the service at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church, 501 Beach Road, Hampton; all are welcome.  The graveside service will be streamed on the funeral home Facebook page or you can watch by clicking here after 2:28 PM.
