Archie Lewis Walton, 94, of Hampton, passed away October 26, 2025. Born in Phoebus to Archie Thomas and Nettie Lorraine Walton, his life was marked by service and dedication. After high school, Archie joined the US Air Force in 1950. During the Korean War, he served in North Africa and was honorably discharged after serving in the Vietnam War. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he dedicated 20 years to the Hampton Sheriff's Department.

After retirement and the death of his wife, Ruby, Archie met Joyce Cooper at Life Long Learning. They spent many years together traveling overseas and across the country, cherishing their time together.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ruby, Archie was preceded in death by a half-brother, George Johnson, and half-sister, Katy Anderson.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the caring staff at the Commonwealth Senior Living Facility for the daily care they gave him during his time there and the Medi Hospice staff for their care during his final weeks.

A graveside service with full Air Force honors will be held at Oakland Cemetery 3pm, Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
