Archie L Deans Sr, 78, of Hampton VA passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Archie was the former owner of Bob Corbetts Wheel Alignment.

Born on November 30, 1947, in Pitt County NC to Ruby Tilghman (Deans) Corbett and Louis Redman Deans; Archie lived a life dedicated to his family and work. He worked as a mechanic/owner for his stepfather, Robert “Bob” Corbett for 49 years at Bob Corbetts Wheel Alignment and was a graduate of Hampton High School Class of 1967.

He was a loving husband to Kathy F Deans for 56 years; and devoted father to his son, Archie L Deans Jr and daughter Terry L Deans. He enjoyed playing music as a guitarist for most of his life and was also an active member in the N-SSA with the Wythe Rifles for 36 years. His love for cars led him to build several hot rods over the years including his beloved 1940 Ford. He was also a lifelong baseball fan who enjoyed playing the game as a young boy. Archie had a great smile and brought joy to everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Kathy F Deans; son, Archie Deans Jr and wife, Kari Deans; his daughter Terry Deans; brother, Gerald Deans; sisters, Cathy Payne and Belinda Mitchell; grandchildren, Hayden, Christopher, and Daniell; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Tilghman Deans Corbett; father, Louis Redman Deans; stepfather, Robert Corbett; four brothers, Elisha Elmer “Boots” Deans, Robert “Bobby” Deans, Don Raby Deans, William “Bill” Deans; and two grandsons, Nathan and Paris.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 3, 2026, at R Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton.
