Anne Loyd, 83, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Born in Texas to parents, John and Janie Hoover, she had been a long time Hampton resident. Anne worked for 40 years as the church secretary at Phoebus Restoration Baptist Church where she was also a longtime member.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James A. Loyd; and her granddaughter, Cassandra Freeman; she leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Susan E. Freeman and son, John R. Loyd (Merri); her sister, Betsy Spiller; brother, Jack Hoover (Dini); grandchildren James Coltrain (Katherine) and Courtney Coltrain; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Moody, Everleigh Moody and Owen Moody; as well as her nieces and nephews.
