IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anna
Christopher
January 10, 1928 – April 18, 2017
Anna Christopher departed this life on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.
Anna was born on January 10, 1928, in Cyprus and moved to the United States with her husband in 1949. Family was the most important thing to her. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many – loving unconditionally, giving freely of herself with kindness, generosity, and compassion. She was an extraordinary person with many talents who was loved by many and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was a member of the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the Daughters of Penelope.
She leaves behind her husband, Chris; her daughters Toni, Evie, Angela and husband Wayne Crump, Joanne and fiancé Bob Hines; her son, Chris, Jr.; her grandchildren Zach and wife Susan and great grandson Roman; Juliana; Niki and husband Brian Caperton; Benjamin, and Alexa; and her sister-in-law Helen George and nephews, Anthony and Chris. She is preceded in death by her father, Anthony George, her mother, Angela Kashoumery, and her brother, Nick George.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Gwen Cofield, Susan Barnes, Kathleen Peets and the many others who helped with her care over her final years.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 23, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church by the Rev. George Chioros. Burial will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association for research and the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters.
We are comforted in knowing she is no longer suffering and she is free at last. Her gentle spirit and warm smile live on in our hearts.
