IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ann Parrish
Glenn
April 16, 1934 – January 12, 2017
Ann Parrish Glenn passed away January 12, 2017 at Sentara CarePlex after a short illness. Born in 1934 to Bruce and Rachel Parrish, she was native of Danville, VA. Founder and co-owner of Glenn Furniture Company which opened in Newport News in 1957, the family operated store later moved to Hampton, and the Kecoughtan Road store remains in business today.
Ann enjoyed extensive travel, at home and abroad. A favorite of hers was spending time in Key West with her family and friends. There was "no place like home" when her Chesapeake Bayside home was filled with loved ones. "Ladies Day" and "Fourth of July" gatherings were open house annual events. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend she was most generous and thoughtful. "Everybody loves Mamaw"!
The family would like to express their gratitude to Home Instead, the caregivers became like family as they came to love her and she them.
Preceding her in death is her husband of 60 years, Clarence E. Glenn Sr. Leaving to cherish her memory are her sister Carol (Fred) of Roanoke; children, Debbie (Rick) Phillips of Wilson, N.C., Eddie Glenn of Hampton, Joyce (Rick) Bush of Fredericksburg, Larry (Deborah) Glenn of Hampton; her grandchildren, Chris, Luke, Kim, Kathleen, C.R., and Garrett; their spouses, Danielle, Carr, Scott, and Erika. Also to cherish her memory is her childhood friend from Connecticut, Ann Waldron as well as nieces, neighbors, and "cousins".
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Fredericksburg Baptist Church 1019 Princess Anne Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
