Anita Vaughn, 82, passed away at home on Monday, April 1, 2024, with her children by her side.  Born in Portsmouth, Ohio to parents Stanley and Mary VanHoose, she had been a Hampton resident for many years.  Anita married Larry R. Vaughn in 1959 and they were together 54 years until his passing in 2013.  She worked as a supervisor and office manager for the City of Hampton, Probation and Parole and retired after 30 plus years of service.  Anita enjoyed reading, crocheting, her dog, Molly, and spending time with her family.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Billy VanHoose; she leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Cathy L. Ramsey; son, Eric R. Vaughn; brother, Danny VanHoose; granddaughter, Jennifer L. Locey and her husband, Mark; and great-grandchildren, Taylor L. Locey and Trevor D. Locey.
