Andrew M. Taraska, 26, died Monday, November 24, 2014. A native of Hampton, as a young man he hung drywall with his father, he served in the US Marine Corps, and most recently he worked as an Electrician at the Shipyard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snake wrangling, and was a great outdoorsman. He loved working with his hands and was always willing to help others. Survivors include his mother, Patricia Hylton and her husband, Randy; his father, Edward Taraska; his brother, Matthew Taraska; his sister, Katelyn Campbell and her husband, Michael; his nephew and niece, Brennan and Makayla Campbell; his uncle, Edward (Marty) Jones; aunts Carmela (Pepe) Meloney, Teresa Wilson, and Teri Bales and their families; and many friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1510 Todds Lane, Hampton, followed by a reception. Interment with Marine honors will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone, VA. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
