CW4 Andrew John Czechowski, U. S. Army Ret., 59, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Born in Milwaukee, WI, he has been a resident of Chesapeake for 21 years. Andrew Retired from the U.S. Army in 2002 after 31 years, which included service during the Vietnam and Persian Gulf Wars. He earned a Masters in Musical Arts and served as Bandmaster for 15 years. After retirement he served as the Music Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hampton. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 511 and a member of the American Legion Post 280. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Rose Marie Czechowski; daughters, Anna Marie Miller and her husband Matthew and Mary Lynn Czechowski; mother, Mary Jane Czechowski; sisters, Diane Czeczot and Barbara Delgado; brothers, George Czechowski, Tom Czechowski and Chris Czechowski; grandchildren, Lillian Tisdale and Caleb Miller; and several Nieces and Nephews. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 Buckroe Ave., in Hampton. The family will receive friends following the Mass. Interment with full military honors will follow at 2:00 PM in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. Arrangements are by R.
