It is with great sadness that the family of Amanda Gail Topping announces her sudden passing on August 14, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

A lifelong resident of the Peninsula, Amanda graduated from Bethel High School, class of 1998.  She spent her career in medical administration including working for physicians in several capacities.  She was an animal lover with a special fondness for dogs.   Amanda also loved being around the water surrounding her home town.

Her family remembers her as an affectionate and caring individual who loved life to the fullest.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carlile (Buddy) and Anne Topping and Clyde (Mutt) and Wilma Broughton.

She is survived by her loving son, Connor Woodcock; parents, David and Janice Topping; brothers Johnny Topping (Joy) and Craig Topping (Christine); nephews Becton Topping and Clay Topping; and several aunts and uncles; and many friends.

A memorial service and visitation will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton on August 18 ^th with visitation at 5:00 pm and service following at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to the Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA  23601 or the Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
