IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amanda Leigh
Nichols
February 2, 1985 – October 12, 2023
Our precious daughter, Amanda Leigh Nichols went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 12, 2023. Amanda was born on February 2, 1985 as our little groundhog. She attended Bethel High School and Old Dominion University where she majored in dance.
Amanda loved life, her family, and her cats, but the greatest love of her life was her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was proud of her faith and she never tried to hide it…she shared it!
Amanda leaves behind her mother, Debra Cassell (Stan); her father, George Nichols (Carol Hayes); her brother, Drew Cassell and his children, Chase (Jorji), Olivia, Avery, and Andy; uncles, Mark Wilkerson (Mickey), Justin Wilkerson (Autum), Sam Ulsaker, Jerry Nichols (Roxanne); aunts, Donna Hendershot (Jim), Jan Milosek, Wanda Reece (Dwayne), Lara Lauder, Connie Pope (Chester) and Carol Washburn. She is also survived by her cousins and their children, Heather Blanks (Travis), Hailey Daniels (Chance), Taylor Blanks, Noah and J.B. Brian Siegla (Sarah) and Wyatt, Jayme Stukas who was more than a cousin, she was her sister and best friend, (D.J.) and Addy, Scott Reece (Donna) and Amber and Eric, Brooke Barnette and Lindzie, Elizabeth and Peyton, Tristen Reece and Jadon and Shyla, Tere Clark (Lori Norman), Kara Webber (Matt), Mackensey Norwood (Kayden), Ashtyn Clark, Kirsten Clark, Kain Pope (Kasey), Justin Pope, and Coraline Webber.
Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raleigh and Christine Wilkerson, and Kenneth and Dorothy "Nannie" Nichols, and her great-grandmother, Mary Wilmouth
Nannie nurtured Amanda's belief in Jesus Christ from an early age. They would share biblical stories and pictures. "Jesus" was one of Amanda's first words. Her faith helped her get through the extreme episodes of her liver illness and prepared her for her Godly journey.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM Thursday, October 19, 2023 in the chapel at Liberty Live Church, 1021 Big Bethel Road, Hampton (look for the blue balloons). A celebration of Amanda's life will begin at 11:00 AM and may be viewed live at www.libertylive.church/livestream/HPT.
In honor of Amanda, feel free to wear a Yankees, Giants, or Clemson jersey or her favorite color, baby blue.
The family would like to thank the VCU Medical Center for their dedicated care and to Liberty Live Church for their gracious hospitality and live stream availability. Also a special thanks to Rachel, Teresa and Christina for their extra love and support.
