Alois C. Clapham, 97, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017. Born October 13, 1920 in Cornwall, Rockbridge County, VA, she was the daughter of Horace and Cora Crissman.

Alois enjoyed antiques, flowers and art. She was the mother of four children, she was a single parent for two of her children.  She retired from American Safety Razor Company.

She will be greatly missed by her children Diana (Brad) Marshall, Anita Willard and George William (Michelle)  Clapham; her grandchildren Deanne Marshall and Shawn (Nora Williams) Marshall; a brother Paul (Suellen) Crissman; a sister-in-law Vernell Crissman; along with many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son Henry, her husband George, her brothers Alan, Claude, Homer and Jim Crissman, and her sisters Marie McCroy and Nancy Kennedy.

Pastor Robert M. Chapman, II will officiate a memorial service at 2pm, Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Chestnut Methodist Church, 1024 Harpersville Rd., Newport News.
